Big Changes to Fluffin' Around Town Grooming in 2026

After a strong year running Fluffin' Around Town Grooming, it has been an absolute dream to be able to work with so many pets and their parents! I always strive to improve, grow and give the best experience I can. Below will be an outline of the changes that will be implemented over this coming year and some explanations on why the changes are happening!

Pricing and Availability Changes

What's Changing?

Base pricing for all Full Services and all Standalone services will be raised. It will be first implemented with existing clients on newly created appointments after this update is introduced. Any pre-booked appointments made will continue to have old pricing. There will be an allowance for current existing clients to pre-book at current pricing to the end of the year, but all appointments in 2027 will be new pricing. All new clients will immediately have the new pricing.

Availability will become more limited. With this time, I will be personally going through Fluffin' Around Town Grooming's client list to update to only active clients. With that, many client's who have not booked with us within the year, those who have missed multiple appointments or repeatedly cancel appointments will be removed from our system. That does not mean they are not allowed to want to book again but there is going to be a limited amount of clients accepted.

Days and hours of availability. Currently it is the goal to be able to take off two days a week, but I will be starting with one. Starting in October 2026, Tuesday's will be a dedicated day off. Hours of availability will continue to be worked on and fluctuating based on demand. I ask for patience during this change as I expect to (unfortunately) lose and gain clients.

The big WHY?

Fluffin' Around Town Groomings main goal is integrate pet health and beauty, being an essential part of your pet's routine. Since starting back in June of 2025, Lola has been working 7 days a week near nonstop to provide as much time and attention she could to keep the business side of things afloat. As demand grows, so does the needs that it asks for. With the times changing and expenses growing, she has tried to keep pricing reasonable and affordable for as long as possible. It is with high hopes that the new additions below can help justify pricing changes, but Lola completely understands that money is no easy task for most. Mobile grooming is absolutely a luxury and unfortunately pricing changes with it. Lowering the amount of accepted clients is in hopes to make sure all existing clients gets top priority again without feeling like they are rushed, unheard and/or unseen.

Service Changes

New Additions to Full Service appointments

All full service appointments are now all price included with some exceptions. All full services will include these options which can be added or subtracted from the appointment at no extra cost:
- Pre-Service Consultation
- Weight checking at the beginning of service
- Choosing of High-end products based on Consultation
- 3 Step Hydration Soak with products chosen
- Warmed towel drying
- Full fluffing with best suited dryer + In depth skin and coat assessment
- Full Nose to Tail Haircut
- Ear Cleaning
- Ear Hair Plucking (removal)
- Teeth Brushing
- Nail Trim & Nail Grinding
- Cocoa Butter Nose & Paw Balm
- Single color Nail painting
- Cologne Spritz
- Accessory
- End of Service Wellness Summary & Next Steps report

PRE-SERVICE Form: This will be a new form added to be filled out before each service by the groomer. It will be a check list of all the services the pet parent would like performed during the appointment. This is will be referred to in order to accurately perform need without missing something ask for or not wanted. This will be kept with the End of Service Health Report to maintain record of what was performed when.

NEW SERVICE ADDITION: Weighing before service: This new service includes the recording of weight changes to pricing up-to-date as well as to monitor any health changes that could be of noticeable concern. Pricing is reliant on weight which can change more frequently than what is recorded through vet visits. The use of the scale may have slight difference than other scales, so to ensure the most accuracy, it will be tested 3 times and averaged. Pricing may change day of appointment if weight is drastically different from the last appointment (Typically in the case of a growing puppy or sudden weight gain).

NEW SERVICE ADDITION: Towel Warmer: This tool will be used to bring towels -used for drying pets- to a safe and relaxing temperature. Using this warmth will help relieve stress and aid in the drying process.

NEW SERVICE ADDITION: End of Service Health Report: This new addition will introduce a new chart that will keep tabs on the whole service as well as any existing and new health changes. The goal is to be able to have a trail of how your pet's health is changing and if there needs to be any possible vet interventions. As we are not certified to give veterinary solutions, we are able to advise when it may be time to bring up concerns. This chart will also help identify new or forming lumps/bumps, skin changes, dental health, ear health and so much more! What is on the chart may change overtime. Pet parents may request copies of the chart(s) for personal records or to show vets and it will be personally signed off from your groomer!

NEW SERVICE ADDITION: Cocoa Butter Nose and Paw Balm: This Nose and Paw Balm will help moisturize and protect the skin barrier for the nose and paw pads. Using a plant-based formula, free from: parabens, phathalates and gluten.

NEW SERVICE REMOVAL: Anal Gland Expression: In the best interest for you and your pup, Anal Gland Expression is most effective internally with your trusted vet. The slightest incorrect method of externnal expression can be damaging.

Van Changes

What's changing?

Over the last few months, there have been a lot of additions to the van to improve cleanliness, pet comfort levels and efficiency. Many of these changes have already shown positive increases in most fields and hopefully will continue to find more ways to improve! Here are the current changes:

Warm Lighting Options: Installed on the roof of the grooming van, this allows a gentle lighting to help promote a stress-relieving environment. Especially during what can be stressful parts of grooming such as the bathing and drying process. This changing of lighting can promote a much more homely atmosphere over intense bright lights.

Pet Specific Music: Using the van's built-in stereo system, it can play relaxing pet specific sounds at safe decibels that promote a spa environment to reduce stress. Especially helpful to drown out stressing sounds that may be going on outside without harming the pet's ears.

Dog Hormone Diffusers: Helps reduce stress behaviors like indoor accidents, barking, and destructive chewing. Natural pheromone formula mimics calming signals dogs recognize from birth (Free from sedatives). Suitable for dogs at every life stage, from puppies to seniors.

Dual Slow Drying Methods: This method of drying has two dryers on low speed to reduce the amount of stress a high velocity dryer can cause. A lot of stress for a dryer can be from a multitude of issues such as loud sound and movement. While this method can take a bit
longer than high speed, your pet's comfort is absolute priority.

Protective Curtains: These new curtain additions are meant to decrease the amount of moisture that can get trapped in crevice's and on tools that are behind them. It helps promote a cleaner and safer environment.

Important Policy Updates

To ensure we provide the safest care for your furry friends, Fluffin' Around Town Grooming is introducing two key policy updates. First, a dematting consent form is now required for pets with severe tangles to prioritize their comfort and skin health. It will also outline preventions and advice to be able to better understand matting. Second, we’ve updated our social media policy to better showcase your pet’s fresh new look while respecting your privacy needs. These changes help us maintain a professional, transparent environment for every pet parent in our community.

Other small changes in wording and expectations will be happening, so it will be in your best interest to check out the changes. All existing clients will be required to re-sign the updated agreement form.

Final Notes From Lola

Above all, I want to give a HUGE thanks to all of my absolutely wonderful clients and those who have shown interest in Fluffin' Around Town Grooming! This has been my passion for so many years and I put my everything into being the best groomer I can be for your pets. Many days and long hours are a privilege I get to spend to focus on improvement. That being said, I tend to overexert myself too much and start forgetting steps in the fray. Making these changes and the possibility of losing beloved clients has been incredibly daunting and stressful but I must stand-by what I believe all pets deserve to have while keeping the business functioning. I hope that everyone who reads this understands how personal this business and the Groomer-Pet relationship means to me.

Future Plans

As more time is taken off, I hope to return back to social media and to restart posting regularly with active updates, fun videos and precious memories to hold onto.
As a creative, I hope to bring in my and other creators to bring handmade merchandise to sell. On the same note, going to more farmer's markets and events to help provide more services for our clients.
With the busy schedule, it has been hard to volunteer for shelters and this community as much as I had been before, so I absolutely want to rekindle tons of volunteer work!
